Senator Paul Wellstone has died

in a plane crash outside of Virginia. Ironically, he was on his way (with his wife and daughter) to attend a funeral. The general article from AP can be found here. Wellstone was one of the few Senators wiling to stand up to Bush, even though he was facing a re-election campaign. I am saddened.

In other news, the BBC's top story this morning was the raid by the Russian army into the theater where 700 hostages were being held by Chechen rebels demanding an end to the war there. From what they can tell, most of the Chechens are dead, with a few in custody and a few escaping. No one knows for sure how many hostages are dead, though probably at least 10. The news on it right now is very scare. The article is here, though I got more seeing it on the telly. I'll update on me later, frankly the news is more interesting.

7:10 Update: I really like this article on Time.com about Sen. Wellstone as well. A little sappy, but he has a point.

as I vaugely noticed and as jonesyak pointed out, they have named a hurricane after me. Now, of course they spelled my name wrong, but hey at least everyone will pronounce it corectly. An article about what I've been up to is here.

Pizza Nightmare

Someone did not want kespernorth and myself to have pizza tonight. We ordered pizza and I was going to run over to Nat West and get cash. Problem - ATM isn't working. So we wander over to the Circle Store (after a small getting lost detour), and their ATM is out of cash as well. We get home, borrow £20 from flatmate and then we wait for the pizza guy...and wait, and wait and wait. Turns out he was sitting downstairs in an unmarked car, with his lights off. Needless to say the pizza was cold when we got it. I will not be ordering from them again.
At least I got pizza.
