Boat Party
Nov. 7th, 2002 06:11 pmSo, last night like a good girl I took (nearly) everyones advice and went to the boat party. Vast improvement over last time. I spent most of the night hanging out with one of my flatmates, Patricia. The girl seems to know everybody, or at least every Brazilian in town. I danced a lot in later part of the evening.
The music was poo, but the boat was cold and dancing keeps me both amused and warm. If I get into a good enough groove I can forget that I look stupid and am alone. I didn't really meet anyone, though I did chat with a girl from my Complex Emergencies course that Patricia also knows.I'm glad I went, if more for erasing the nasty taste in my mouth from the last public outing more than anything.
Musical note: Nickleback's "How You Remind Me" should NOT be remixed with up tempo, fun 80's pop. It doesn't work. Those who think it does should be shot.
