The 5th Element

I just finished watching The Fifth Element on ITV. It's been a really long time since I just sat and watched it, instead of coming into in the middle, or having it on as background noise. I forgot what a beautiful, stylish, fun movie it is. Luc Besson did wonderful work and Jean-Paul Gaultier's costumes are just so..... Gaultier. *giggle*
I'm having an urge to watch Gattaca (yet) again. Another wonderfully stylist flick, yet in a very different way.
Now I need to go to bed.

Skating

Just got back from skating at ExCel. It was even deader than last week. Malcolm hurt himself, so he didn't show and, and many of the regulars are in Belgium for an indoor meet. So, it was just me, Nick, Adrian, and Suzu. Effectivly that meant I worked on my own, occasionally trying (and failing) to stay with the guys. I got a workout, I'm just not sure how great it was. Got some technical hints on my stride from Nick that I'm going to play with, they feel counter-intuitive, but I can also see where they might work.

After practice I tried to go buy bagels and a paper, but the cash machine near the bagel place was out of cash. So I came home after stopping at NatWest and buying my paper. Bagels will have to wait until the morrow.

Now I go to munch, study, and possibly nap (in no particular order).

I was mucking about on IMDB (a guaranteed time-killer)and discovered something. Jean-Paul Gaultier just did costumes design for a mini-series of Les Liaisons Dangereuses starring Catherine Deneuve and Rupert Everett. It's a Canadian/French production that doesn't look like it's run yet. I must see it. The costumes alone should be interesting, as Gaultier has this whole obsession with that era, and Catherine Deneuve as the Marquise de Merteuil has major potential.

I blame this all on inevitability who first introduced me to the 1988 Glenn Close/ John Malkovich production of Dangerous Liaisons
