Shopping Goodness
Mar. 15th, 2003 04:02 pmAfter skating Tatum Park this morning I decided to be productive and finally buy a new pair of dress shoes. My rice paddy shoes are falling to bits and I need something with a hard sole to tango in at the very least. Besides, my nice skirts look like crap with trainers :)
Being lazy I headed over to the cheapo stores at Elephant and Castle rather than to Oxford Street. Frankly that neck of the woods on a beautiful Saturday is more than a little crowded for my tastes (esp with a skating bag on my back). This was a good choice. Not only did I eventually find a pair of black heels for £4.99, but I also got a copy of Les Liaisons Dangereuses for just £2 in a nifty used bookshop. Conveniently I was also able to pick up the zucchini I forgot to buy during my normal grocery run. Somehow I also ended up with a 2L thing of Rum and Raisin ice cream (£1.69 at Iceland). Anyone want to help me eat it?
Last but not least I tried on pants! Okay I didn't buy any but this is the first step in a long, torturous process that will hopefully yield up a reasonably inexpensive pair of black pants. I'm not willing to spend too much money, no matter how badly I need them, simply because I object to having to spend lots on money on an item of clothing that I will then have to alter. :) Short-girl shopping morality.
That about it. I'm supposed to go out with some people from my program tonight, so I'm going to take a nap and then get ready. Blerg.
