Fall Down, Go Boom
Apr. 27th, 2003 06:17 pmThat's what I did today. Got to Hyde Park (late) ad began skating with the 2 people who showed for practice (yesterday was called off because of crap weather/ no interest). We met this guy Dave - an Aussie speedskater, who decided to skate with us a bit. Coming back down to the Beach, he fell and I went right over him onto the pavement. A little bit later as we were headed out to Serpentine Road, I fell again, just tripped over a little bump. Frankly I think the back pack on my back unbalanced me and the earlier fall didn't help. So I went home after that.
Now I have a banged up knee, and ugly looking elbow, and I think I caught my ribs in that first fall, not to mentioned a head/neck ache. Bleh. Napped for like 3.5 hour and it helped some, but I have a paper to get written.
Okay, enough whining. On a good note I didn't really tear up my clothes (though I'm too scared to look at my boots), and out network seems to be working again after being down from about 8 last night to 8 this morning.
I think I'll go find some painkillers now.
