Marysville Season Opener
Nov. 18th, 2003 10:52 amIn the words of Steve Anderson (paraphrased) "I hate this floor". While the meet had good and bad points the floor itself just does not love me.

1000mFirst race and the distance we didn't expect to do. I slacked, knowing that I would get my ass kicked and wanting to save my energy for races I'm a bit stronger in.
500m: Off the line, Stephanie jumped. On the second start I stumbled a bit off the line and at the end of the first corner I toe-picked, sending myself sprawling across the floor "like Superwoman" according to my teammates. Nearly hit the wall with my head, but got right back up and finished, though I got lapped real quick. Got off the floor to discover my right knee very swollen, along with the expected burns. Ice packs we got and while it didn't really hurt, it looked ugly.
2000m Because of my knee I had to scratch my favorite race. The other two ended up going with the two remaining Junior Women and racing a 1500m instead, so it worked out, but I wish I could have raced.
