trilliumgrl: (Kyna Doll)
So I have finally gone to the new Seattle Main Library. Not for books though (I have tons of unread ones at home), but rather for the joy of wireless internet. Sweet, sweet crack, free and all I have to do is put up with this modern architecture stuff.

I firmly believe that library should be cozy and slightly musty. Cement is okay and long as it helps muffle noise. This glass and steele thing does nothing for my soul. Interesting, but sterile. While I can see both the practical and aesthetic applications, in a library, it does not appeal to me. Heck, the BLPES annoyed me and there we at least had carpet (along with rather uncomfortable chairs).

Today I went to the first of my now bi-weekly PT appointments for my knee/IT band. Nothing like not getting lunch AND not getting to leave the office. Oh yeah, and having a co-worker poke her thumbs into my leg, that was fun too :) I know I need to do it, since I can't lift, skate, walk or do much else without some level of pain, but that doesn't mean it's going to be fun.

Still working on London accommodation, hence why I am at the library. Hotel sites load faster with a non-modem connection. Should have it picked by tonight, but I'm waiting for a bit of info on a couple of properties, plus I want to talk to mom before the final decision is made and the money spent. This morning I handed her my London travel guides, inherited from [livejournal.com profile] radu before I moved there. She is to go through them and mark where she's interested in going, hopefully giving me a better feel for this planning thing.

Back to work now. Pretty soon I will head home and collapse.
