Busy Nothingness
Sep. 3rd, 2003 05:16 pmI've done lots today, yet I've done nothing. Got up this morning and did a load of laundry, which I folded while watching an "ER" re-run on 4 (yay! they're back!). After that bummed around more, putting up signs to try and find someone to share a cab to the airport, and cleaning out the skating part of my room, tossing used wheels and whatnot. Then I decided to run over to Jessop's, pick up a one-time-use camera and take photos for my mom.
I was just going to get the camera and come home, but I was at Cannon Street Station, really close to Blackfriar's Bridge, which has a view I wanted. Was going to take a couple of photos and catch the bus home, but instead I ended up walking back home and taking pictures along the way. Ran into Jayne and a friend of hers on the bridge which was neat, and also stopped for an ice-cream cone just because I could. Still have a few more pictures to do, but I got the Tate Modern, Southwark Cathedral, a few spots I just really like, Tower Hill, and part of the Tower Bridge out of the way. Also got a start made on breaking in my new shoes, always a pleasant thing. After that I came home and made a late lunch (it was 4:00 by the time it was ready) and read a couple of stories at SciFi.com.
Not sure what I'm going to do tonight. My tentative plans have fallen through, replaced with more solid ones for tomorrow afternoon. I might continuing my pre-pack tidying, I might sew, or I might just bum around. Sometime tonight I need to go top-up my phone. I hate to put 5 quid on it, but I only have 45p left on it and that gets me no more than about 3 texts, which I'll definitely go through. Oh well, it's nice to have it on there for security anyways and I do have some calls to make.
