Tylenol how I love thee
Nov. 7th, 2004 06:30 pmI discovered on Saturday that 2 extra-strength tylenol (1000mg total) makes the knee pain a smidge more bearable. Not do al of warm-up bearable, but skate a decent relay without crying bearable. I still hurt, but a bit of the edge (and thus much of the fear) goes away.
My neato discovery led to practice on Saturday being on of my better in recent memory. Not fantabulos, but I was able to skate. Practice today was not quite as good. The pain was a little worse but the big problem was landing on my ass. Now, the good thing about my rear is that it is well-padded and I would much rather land on it than on my knee. The bad thing about landing on my patoot is that it tends to throw my spine out. Add to that the fact that I was pushed down by Bryce of all people giving me a cruddy downward-tag and it takes the bloom off the ES Tylenol. (Note: Bryce has been skating since she could walk, how she could blow her tags like that amazes me. Somedays it sucks being short.)
Tomorrow is thankfully a dance-only day, so I can hopefully stretch out some of the kinks I put into my body this weekend. Barre stretches are good things. I keep being tempted to drop Wednesday practice because I'm so tired when I get to class that I dance really poorly, but that would leave me with nearly no time on my skates, given the fact that I can't attend Auburn practice until I get a car. Rock meet hard place
My knee just popped. Ick. Need to move that doctor's appointment up from the 22nd. I have a sneaking suspicion I'm going back into PT. Grrrrrrr
