It's been a busy few days and it doesn't look like it'll settle anytime soon. Right now I'm sitting in the World's End living room, alone with no urgent plans for the the first time in days. It's ..... odd, but relaxing.
Tuesday Looking through lots of stores, but didn't buy much. I'm picky when I Christmas shop, so this was really more of a recon trip than anything else. Came home and then whet to McLeandon's, where we bought out tree. Not only was the price fairly reasonable and the tree pretty nice, but they also wrapped and re-cut the tree, making both getting the tree home and caring for it MUCH easier on mum and I. All this fun was followed by practice in Auburn, which was less than spectacular, but I lived through it.
Wednesday: Did some Christmas shopping and then had a lovely drive to Bellevue, where I got set up with MedTemps. Might as well go with an agency specifically aimed at what I do. Plus they get more temp-to-hire stuff. No matter what it's gotta be better than the icky assignments I was getting with Corestaff. Came home and started packing up and headed off to practice. My right IT band is acting up, thanks to twisting odd into the corners at Auburn (I think). I need to work on that, cause an IT is really hard for me to stretch. After practice I ate, napped, and then headed to meet
seanb for the 12am showing of RotK.
Happy move. I like it, a lot. Even with some cutting of things I like (House of Healing, Pippin's friendships in Gondor) it still worked for me. Not only that, it flowed with the first two, doing what a trilogy needs to do. I am a happy fangirl, yes I am. Fun line as well, thanks to
leannan_sidhe,
ocicat,
lady_equine and company.
Thursday: Can we say "sleep"? I knew we could. Spent most of the day out cold, something about having gotten in at about 4:30am, cause me to want to sleep. Finally left the house at about 3pm for Target shopping (mostly a bust) and food. Then came back, and got gussied up to head to Sean's company Christmas party.
This is when it starts to go downhill. Heading down 145th someone pulled out in front of Sean's car, and he didn't have enough time to stop. His poor little car now lacks a front headlight Beyond that everyone seems okay.I 've got a bit of a stiff shoulder, but than just may be me dumping tension.
Needless to say after that, we just came back to World's End, where I proceeded to worry-wart and pour tea down our respective throats while he chatted with the insurance company. Fun (NOT!!!).
Future Plans: Today I'm meeting the fabulous
lithera for lunch, shopping at Uiwagimaya, and then heading home and practice-ward, with possibly a Southcenter run thrown in before that. After practice, I'm most like headed back toward the north end of town. Saturday, there is a clubbing expedition in honor of the return of
inevitability, whom I've not seen in far too long, plus the normal round of practicing. Sunday I'll be getting up early to head to the the team Christmas party/breakfast in Auburn. It should be fun, it's just a little earlier (9:30am) than I would like. Any time the whole of Southgate gets together amusement (of the snarky variety) is almost guaranteed to be had.
So, yeah I'm a little busy. If you need to get a hold of me, just leave a message at my house and/or try and track me down with some of the World's End folk, if you are truly desperate.

Jobs
Date: 2003-12-21 12:55 am (UTC)One thing: If you are looking for medical, there are some specific temp places that do medical. Also, Pace Staffing in Kent has a contact of sorts with Group health last I checked. Might not hurt to ask the Bellevue Pace staffing, either.
Re: Jobs
Date: 2003-12-21 06:38 pm (UTC)What I'm mostly looking for would be medical reception, preferably non-profit/community health, since that's what I'm most interested in. My background though is in physical therapy/alternative health.
Thanks for the heads up on temp places. I just signed up with MedTemps, which has already proven to be helpful, as I have an assignment set up for after the new year.
