trilliumgrl: (Ballet Shoes)

I took my first class in 2 years a couple of weeks ago. Great pain. Getting better though and I'm remembering how to do this dance thing, at least as much as I ever knew (ie not much). Enjoying myself though, it's such a lovely, detail-ely, challenging thing to do. Painful as hell too. :)

Dancing is a good excuse to go shopping too. I'm going to need new tights, new leotards (mine are all VERY old), and somewhere along the line new shoes. Dance Expressions in Federal Way here I come (eventually).

This weekend though, I have already spent plenty. On Friday I bought my comics, plus the first Lucifer trade paperback. Then I hit Nordstrom's Rack and found The Perfect Shoes. They are black leather, pointy-toed, about 1 1/2 inch heal, but the BEST part are the ribbons. The top of the shoes have black ribbon lacing and the ribbons then wrap around your ankles. They are splendid and only put me out $36 (originally $100). I also got fishnets with seams up the back. Today, I bought stockings, hair clips, ribbon (for hair clips), stockings, and the Center Stage DVD. Yes, I have been quite the spender recently, kind of odd for me actually.

Not much else going on. I actually took some sick time this week, because of a migraine. Not queasy-inducing pain, but enough stabbing pain to make me hate the world. Beyond that, I'm enjoying another weekend with my lovely Sean, and not doing much else.

I <3 ballet. Well truthfully, I love movies about dancers. I never could dance much due to being well, uncoordinated with skinny ankles and a fat ass. But I loved Center Stage and also "The Company" which didn't have much of a story but some incredible footage. If you haven't seen it you should.

I can dance really well in my imagination, and I choreograph classical music in my head. That means I get to leave the pain to you! Ha!

I wanted to see "The Company", but at the time I couldn't get anyone to go see it with me. Soon though, I WILL get to see it.

I'm also incredibly uncoordinated with weak ankles and a skater's build, but I figure if I enjoy myself, what the hell?

Hey you dancin' queen, I've been thinking about you. I havn't done ballet since I was like, 12 or so, and even *then* I was too chunky... the dance instructor was so *nice* to suggest perhaps I'd do better in jazz.... Well screw her, I do bellydanceing just FINE thankyou!
