My fax FINALLY went through to LOndon. Turns out the fax number they gave me has been down for a few days.

Now to get this car shite figured out. They want to declare my car a total, but I'm arguing it, since my car has a newly-rebuilt engine in it. At the very least, it should get me more money to repair my car. Hopefully the time between settling and getting my car back will be short, because I'll be without a car during that time.

afaik most insurers will total a car if the cost of repairs exceeds 80% of the fair market value of a car.

Unfortunately rebuilt/replaced engines don't increase the market value of a car whatsoever. When selling it it could be a selling point, but that's about it. :( (learned this when I replaced the engine of my MR2 a few years ago then turned around & traded it in).
