Nice Day Out
Apr. 5th, 2003 03:30 pmSo I'd not left my house in over 48 hours. Why? You ask. Easy, I'm lazy and had lots of cleaning and organizing to do, not to mention the fact that I was bound bent and determined to finish Les Miserables. I had more than enough food in the house, so I could laze around and be a bum.
Today was different though. I got up and grabbed a bus to Victoria Park for skating, I'll detail that in a different post, since I know none of you care. I am now the proud possessor of a week-long bus pass, that cost me less than a weekend tube pass and gets me places just about as quick.
After skating I changed into my favorite pants from last summer - black cropped cotton low-rise and comfy as all get out. I had a nice wander through the park on my way out, caught the bus and quickly stopped at home to change bags. Then I went to Tesco for bread a, somehow last week I bought 2 weeks worth of eggs and milk, but not bread. Got more apples and oranges too, because you can never have too many (stupid note: forgot the peanuts that I really needed, so I'll have to go back!).
On the way home I decided I wanted a bagel, so I went to the Bermondsy Bagel Bakery, which was closed (erg!), instead I stopped at Gregg's and got a pastie and pop, which I took to St. Mary Magdalene's to eat.
It was a gorgeous day (even a sun-hater like me has to admire it) , I had a lovely book (Les Liaisons Dangereuses), and a nice shady bench. Then a drunk old Scotsman by the name of Alan plopped himself onto the other half of the bench and proceeded to tell me random stories about himself, broken up by the occasional comment about the fact that I am "a beautiful girl" and to offer me a drink. *shakes head* and my appeal to drunk men is what?????
After I extricated myself from that I came home. Now it is nap time, for I am sore and tired.
But my god, it is gorgeous out.
